From Rob Boston on Talk To Action:
"This is not your daddy's Christian Coalition," Reed boasted in an interview with Gilgoff. "It's got to be more brown, more black, more female, and younger. It's critical that we open the door wide and let them know if they share our values and believe in the principles of faith and marriage and family, they're welcome."

Why isn't this guy occupying a cell next to Jack Abramoff?

There is something obscene about a far right religious wingnut claiming he is starting a new PAC packed with "brown, black," &c. people, like he is consciously recruiting token representatives from those minority groups so that he can broaded the base. Reed is a sniveling slug, the most disgusting of the crypto-fascistic theocrats. I thought we were rid of him. Alas, no such luck!

I agree that Reed's tactics would appear to be cynical at best. I suspect his PAC may not be very successful, at least not short-term. He was sent packing by even the voters of conservative Georgia. He seems to be "on the outs" with a lot of the GOP establishment, even of the far right.
Off-topic:
The "crypto-fascistic" term gave me a bit of a chuckle, because it put me in mind of the televised (live) Buckley-Vidal debate broadcast during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Gore Vidal accused William F. Buckley of being a "crypto-fascistic," then Buckley called Vidal a "queer," and it was all rather nasty and inadvertently funny...in a pathetic way. I shouldn't encourage such behavior, but I found it really rather funny when Vidal dismissively tells Buckley to, "Shut up," and just proceeds to continue unphased. (Buckley, however, get a bit unhinged.) Here were two privileged white guys, both *temperamentally* conservative (though not both politically so, obviously), in nice suits and wingtips, and with patrician accents (Vidal's a touch more Southern) going at it, each sporting a demeanor as imperious as his opponent. The video clip is on YouTube last I checked. Take a look. It's an interesting "blast from the past."
